Budget Bytes Blog

Budget Bytes created by Beth M. has many many MANY recipes on it.  I was trying to decide which picture to post on the site, but then just decided to pick one, because after almost an hour of looking at this site I just kept finding more recipes that looked amazing.

Beth has set up the site so that each recipe is posted along with a breakdown of the cost.  She breaks down the cost of each ingredient, adds up the total cost per recipe and shows the cost per serving.  {Of course these are HER costs, so they will vary slightly from what we might have to pay}.  I still think it's a pretty neat idea.

She has also broken down her recipes into a ton of different categories.  She has a ton of different ethnic foods, breads, desserts, chicken dishes, vegetarian dishes, and SO much more.

Each one of her posts is a step-by-step pictorial procedure of the featured recipe, making it SUPER easy to follow exactly what she's describing.

I highly recommend checking out her site.

Have a good weekend!

Spring Wreath

I know that I just posted a tutorial for a wreath... but I really like wreaths right now.  I thought this was a super cute and easy one as well.  I hope you go to Patty Schaffer's blog and view her tutorial!

Have a good weekend!

So, I recently came across 2 things that I would like to try in the next few weeks.

1) A recipe that looks SUPER yummy to me

Chocolate Turtle Cookies

I have always been a fan of chocolate turtle candies and ice cream... I pretty much figure that anything chocolate, caramel, and pecans is automatically good.  So I'm pretty sure I need to make these soon.

2) A project that looks fun and would definitely be useful considering the avid reader that my husband is.

Invisible Book Shelf

I am aware that you can buy these, but I know that they are probably more expensive than what I could make them for.  I think if I go to a used book store and got some hardcover books to make the shelves, it would be really cool to have these floating bookshelves all over one of our walls.

Well, have a good weekend and see you back here on Monday!

Don't Carpe Diem

Don't Carpe Diem

Although this is not a craft or a recipe, it certainly hit home for me.  I'm not very far into this thing called motherhood... only 2 months (or 11 depending on how you look at it) in fact.  However, I already hear the "enjoy every moment" advice from old ladies at the store.  I do enjoy being a mom, but there are moments in the day when I don't necessarily like it.  A friend shared this blog yesterday and I have found that I am not as eloquent a writer as the author of this blog.  So, if you read the blog link posted above {Don't Carpe Diem}, it will better fill you in on this idea.

Enjoy the read.
